Kylie's Demonstrator Training Monthly Blog Hop - Forever Blossoms (January 2020)

It's monthly blog hop time!!  Thanks so much for stopping by and please be sure to continue on to some of the other blogs this month.  The creativity of these demos is outstanding!

I have been playing with the Forever Blossoms stamp set and coordinating dies recently.  This set is perfect for playing with your Stampin' Blends® or investing in some if you haven't done so yet! I used the stamp set exclusively for both the images and the sentiments.

I decided to start with a simple stamping design but I did throw in some embossing so the end result doesn't actually qualify for the simple stamping challenge.

As I was going with a softer palette, I prefer to stamp the image in Basic Gray instead of Memento.  I have yet to have any issue when doing this and colouring with my Blends markers.

I used Seaside Spray, Pretty Peacock and Soft Sea Foam blends to get this look.  I used both dark and light for each colour.  I chose to leave some of the blossom petals with some white still as well.  I did find the Pretty Peacock to be a bit bolder than I wanted so used my Colour Lifter to mute out those tones.

To finish this card off, I ran the stamped layer through with the Subtles Embossing Folder and added some of the In Colour Faceted Dots.

For the avid crafter, I made a stepped up version incorporating the use of the coordinating dies as well as some layer with the sentiment.

As with the first card, the image was stamped and coloured in the same manner and this layer was also embossed with the Subtles Folder. In this second version, I only used the light Pretty Peacock Blends marker but still used the colour lifter to get a final shading I felt matched the softness of the other colours used.

I stamped and die cut three of the smaller flower images and added them to the larger image with dimensionals. In this version I used only the Peacock Faceted Dots in two different sizes.

Both versions have the sentiment stamped using Pretty Peacock.  The stepped up version I have stamped on a Whisper White scrap and angle cut both ends.  I then layered this with a similarly angled scrap of Seaside Spray.  Both versions use Thick Whisper White cardstock for the base with a Whisper White layer cut to 4 x 5.25".

I really had a lot of fun with this design and layout.  My club ladies will be making it this month and I have also made a second colour scheme version (Rococo Rose, Purple Posy) for a swap.  Check out the video (linked below) and then give it a try if you own this set. And if you don't, I'd add it to your wish list!

Be sure to give some of the other fabulous demos so love and hop along to another blog or two or twenty!
