Coast to Coast Creators Hop - Sept to Dec Catty

Fourteen of the month so you know what that means! It's team blog and Insta hop day! This month we are featuring our favourites from the newest catalogue that launched on September 1st!

I chose the Holly Jolly Branches Bundle!  I have been working with this one a lot as we are featuring it in our Seasonal Stamp Camp and so I have been creating a lot of different samples with it.

SO.....In addition to our hop theme, I also worked with a team colour challenge for September!

I love this bundle and have so many ideas to use it for projects other than the holidays!

To get started, I grabbed my blending brushes and my Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze ink pads to create the stunning Autumn skyline.

I then added a Gray Granite landscape background with some paper tearing.  The whole thing was then die cut with the Everyday Arches dies to create the background for the trees.

Next was the trees. With only Garden Green to work with from the challenge, I had to think of a way to get some contrast.  To do this, I did two things in addition to using Garden Green cardstock.  I blended ink on Basic White for a lighter shade of Garden Green AND I also blended in directly onto Garden Green cardstock to get a darker version of the shade. I really love how the three compliment each other.

After that it was just tying it all together with a non-holiday sentiment from the stamp set, a background DSP (good old Country Woods) and a few of the NEW Gold Adhesive Backed Dots.

I CASE'd myself for this card, lol!

Taking inspiration from this version that I made in a winter/holiday theme.

I can't wait to see everyone else's interpretation!

Be sure to hop around and check them all out!

Coast to Coast Creators Hop - Fun Folds

Fourteen of the month so you know what that means! It's team blog and Insta hop day! This month we are playing with Fun Folds!

I actually had forgotten this was the theme and by happy accident was working on a two card class and one of the cards was a fun fold!

This card started with the need to use these fabulous specialty papers before they "retire" at the end of the month. I started with a 2" strip of the Luxe White Specialty DSP

I added Lemon Lime Twist and Coastal Cabana with my blending brushed to highlight the lovely pattern. I then used a second pattern of the same DSP for the Stylish Shapes Circle - I love the vibe it gives (I'll be doing this lots more until it's gone)

I stamped the small image an coloured with Lemon Lime Twist and Pool Party (no Cabana blends) and then stamped the sentiment on a Coastal Cabana Banner.

And then a smattering of Lemon Lime Twist embellishments of course!

Because of the nature of the fold, there needs to be more DSP, so I went with a subtle pattern in a neutral from the Valley in Bloom DSP. Thankfully I still had some of a past roll of Basic Beige ribbon to use to bring this all together.

It's a bit of a modified fun fold since it doesn't open fully with the way I have anchored the ribbon but it's equally fun (I think) in the fact that you have to use the ribbon to get into the card!

I can't wait to see everyone else's interpretation!

Be sure to hop around and check them all out!

Coast to Coast Creators Hop - Simple Stamping

Fourteen of the month so you know what that means! It's team blog and Insta hop day! This month I threw down a Simple Stamping Challenge! Cardstock, stamps and ink - that's all!

Everyone had the option to also add one bonus item - DSP, ribbon/twine, embellishment, embossing folder or embossing powder. NO Dies. NO punches.

I have made a very similar design before but it is just such a great option for Simple Stamping with such a stunning end result. I took the challenge one step further and combined it with a team colour challenge. I would not have put all 4 of these colours together but I LOVE the way it works!

The key to this design is to mask off the area where you will eventually stamp the greeting.  You can do this with masking paper, post it notes or even just tape down a strip of cardstock!  And then you just stamp your images all around the area and when you peel away the mask, you are left with a pristine white strip to stamp the greeting!

My bonus item was some embellishments as I needed to cover up an ink smear I had left.

I can't wait to see everyone else's interpretation!

Be sure to hop around and check them all out!
