Fourteen of the month so you know what that means! It's team blog and Insta hop day! This month I challenged everyone to create a design without using Basic White or Very Vanilla!!
My initial plan was to use either Crumb Cake or Smoky Slate in place of Basic White but when I sat down to create, I ended up using colour, colour, and more colour!
This card was so fun to make and was inspired by a design I saw from the Sleepless Stamper. I worked exclusively with the Beautiful Balloons Bundle.
I was initially planning this card as a young boy birthday design so I started by pulling out some Parakeet Party and Tahitian Tide cardstock. Then for a third complementary colour, I decided to go with yellow tones.
I started by stamping tone on tone for green balloon and Tahitian Tide ink on Balmy Blue cardstock for the blue one. I stamped in Daffodil Delight on Lemon Lolly cardstock for the smaller one.
The large balloon "tails" are die cut from the In Colour Textured Specialty Paper - super fun if you don't have it yet.
To soften the transition of the fringe to the card base, I used the Lemon Lolly Sheer Ribbon from the combo pack.
The greeting was stamped just like the balloons and then fussy cut so I could rearrange the words. And then last, but not least, is a couple of die cut stars in the gold More Dazzle Specialty Paper.
Add a few of the In Colour Pearls and it's a wrap! I really love how this colour combination worked and the design came together.
I didn't miss Basic White or Very Vanilla one bit!
I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. Be sure to hop around and check them all out!
Drop a comment, I'd love to know what you think.
