West Coast Creators Blog Hop - Stampin' Up!'s NEW Annual Catty (May 2021)

It's that time of month! Blog hopping with some of my stamping besties from the West Coast Creators!! This month's focus is everything new! So many gems to be found in the newly released annual catty - what to choose?!

Well... my big new catty order hasn't arrived yet so I had to go with pre-order items.  No problem there, I love this new bundle! Color & Contour is an amazing bundle with scalloped contours dies and a DistINKtive two-step stamp set.

This design all jumps off of the Fresh Freesia die cut piece as I have 20 of them left over from making my team swap cards!  And thanks to a weekend of Creative Convention, I had a card to inspire me (thanks Erica Cerwin - Pink Buckaroo). Erica's card used DSP I don't have yet and I different colour scheme, so I had to get creative and add/subtract/change up some concepts.

I am loving the pairing of Fresh Freesia with Gorgeous Grape. I kept it simple by working with Basic White and a hint of Soft Succulent on the greenery of the die cut flower. I started by stamping the image in Gorgeous Grape randomly all over my cardfront.  I then took the splatter stamp, also inked in Grape, and stamped that over each flower. This is a really great effect if you aren't planning to fill the flower in.

Next I needed to create my own DSP as the only DSP I have with Freesia in it is the In-Colour stack. These designs are amazing but they have no white in them and I wanted to keep the DSP panel light. To create this strip, I inked up the Drybrush background stamp in Freesia and stamped on Basic White. I then cut a 1"strip to add to the card.  I layered this over a piece of Grape cardstock which I had used the scalloped edge die on.

Now to put something on that Freesia scalloped die cut that started this whole design.  I stamped the greeting in Gorgeous Grape and then added a die cut image from the bundle.  I stamped the image using Memento Ink. I used my Soft Succulent Blends marker for the leaves.  To create the two toned blossoms, I inked up the 'fill' stamp with Gorgeous Grape. As it's not a perfect fill, I then used my Freesia Blends to fill in any white space and any shadows within the darker Grape colour. Last but not least, a touch of bling using the new In-Colour Jewels.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog. Be sure to 'hop' to as many of the others as you can!
