Kylie's Demonstrator Training Monthly Blog Hop (Aug 2020) - Life Is Beautiful

So excited to be hopping again this month! I'm anticipating lots of holiday themed blogs with all the amazing new items from the August - December Mini Catalogue so I decided to choose one of my non-holiday stamp sets to play with - Life Is Beautiful.

When I saw this stamp set, it instantly reminded me of Sheltering Tree which was one of my favourite retired Stampin' Up!® sets.  So of course, adding this new one to my cart was a no-brainer! Similar to the retired set, it offers the possibility of creating a card for each of the four seasons and has beautiful fonts for all of its classic greetings.

I went with a fall themed card as that is the season soon to be upon is and I am so pleased with how my card turned out.

The jumping off point for this card was the piece of DSP form the World of Good specialty paper pack.  I loved that it has a weathered outdoor feel to it already (which I added to by curling up the corners).  I kept with the earth tones and layered another design from the same paper pack underneath it before placing it all on a Merry Merlot card base (embossed with the Scripty EF).  I also made a second version of this card that has all the same elements except for the layering DSP is Bumble Bee vs Cinnamon Cider.

The tree is stamped using Early Espresso. Although very
subtle, I went for a two step process with the leaves. First I stamped them twice across the branches using Cajun Craze.  Then I switched to Merry Merlot ink and stamped the again but in three spots.  I also used clear embossing powder to heat emboss the Merlot leaves. Adding another dimension to the leaves, I added some of the hexagon shaped Sequins for Everything in both red and orange.

Lastly, I stamped the greeting in Merlot and again embossed with clear embossing powder.  To finish it off, I added three of the Gold Faceted Gems. I hope you like this card as much as I liked designing it.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog. Be sure to 'hop' to as many of the others as you can!

You will be so inspired by all the amazing designs!
