Simple Stamping: Paper, Ink and A Punch

Stampin' Up! has introduced a Simple Stamping Initiative since their 30th anniversary late in 2018.  Each month they are issuing a new challenge with a theme and which products are allowed.  January's challenge was ink, paper and a punch and a Valentine's theme.

This card here does actually meet the criteria.  I used stamps, ink and paper as well as one punch.  Although the heart looks like it was punched out, I fussy cut this out using scissors.

Our larger team, also had this challenge but without the Valentine's requirement. I realize now that I failed at this but my intentions were pure when I started.  If we remove the ribbon from this card design, then I have kept to the criteria, or have I?  Nope!  If you were being picky, I have used DSP (patterned paper) which is technically not allowed!

And if that wasn't enough, I still felt like something was missing and added the metallic gold pearls to the final project! In my defense, this is one of my designs for an upcoming sold out class so I wanted it to have those little extras.

I'm excited for February's challenge which is Birthday with paper, ink, stamps and DSP.  So I could actually use the Wish card if I remove the bow but I think I'll start fresh.  Hope you'll be back to check it out!
