Fourteen of the month so you know what that means! It's team blog and Insta hop day! This month I challenged everyone to create for all the things that October brings!
I worked with some of the NEW online exclusive DSPs and the online exclusive stamp set Growth Takes Time (not new). I love this tree image but haven't really worked with it much at all.
I chose to do a book bind card to showcase both the DSPs. A book bind means the card is scored at both 4 1/4" and also at 3 1/4". The inner 1" is then glued down so that only the 3 1/4" part of the card actually opens.
For this 1", I used the NEW Tartan Foil Specialty DSP in Copper Clay. I then layered the Copper Clay Textured Ribbon with the Natural Wavy Trim.

For the larger part of the card, I used the NEW Traditions of St. Nick DSP in Mossy Meadow. I felt these two papers had a nice fall feel to them.
For the stamped image, I used 2nd generation Crumb Cake so that my ink outline would barely be noticeable once I coloured in with my Stampin' Blends. I used Pecan Pie for the trunk and for the leaves I used Old Olive and a combination of Daffodil Delight with Cajun Craze. Again, I like the autumn feel this lent to the design.
I accessorized with diecuts from both Radiating Stitches as well as Stylish Shapes. The embellishments are Calypso Coral dots from the Ombre Matte Decorative Dots selection.
I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. Be sure to hop around and check them all out!
Drop a comment, I'd love to know what you think.
