Fourteen of the month means it is team blog hop day! And this month we are simple stamping!! Even better, by sticking with stamps, ink, paper and Designer Series Paper, I can play along with Stampin' Up!®'s December Simple Stamping Challenge. (#SimpleStamping).
I revisited a design idea I had done previously with repeating stamping and a strip of patterned paper (cut at 1 1/4" x 5 1/2") as it immediately came to mind when I saw this piece of DSP.
The colours are straight out of the By the Bay DSP (coming in the January mini) - Pool Party, Balmy Blue, Coastal Cabana and Night of Navy. The DSP has a neat little shimmer to it which you can actually see in the photo.
I lined up the coordinating ink colour with the DSP and I love the effect. I stamped using the Biggest Wish stamp set.
I then stamped the greeting using the NEW stamp set Something Fancy coming in January. I could have cropped this tighter but had this rectangle sitting in my scraps so I went with it.
If not for this month's theme, I probably wouldn't have made this card, but I'm sure glad I did! It's a great simple idea for upcoming Birthday Card classes, it works well as a masculine card and it would be easy to mass produce for an annual order I get each January.
I can't wait to see what everyone else created.
Drop a comment, I'd love to know what you think.
I can't link to the DSP or stamp set yet as they haven't gone live but here is a list of the other items in my project.
