Fourteen of the month so you know what that means! It's team blog and Insta hop day! This month we are working off a sketch to create with whatever products we have in our stash.
In addition to the sketch, my inspiration was to keep it to a simple card (my son says I never have any "basic" cards) and also to have it be suitable for a masculine birthday. I followed it almost to the letter but I couldn't fit the cake image on the square die cut so I had to change it up to a circle.
The DSP is Azure Afternoon so I used my colour coach and added in Balmy Blue, Pebbled Path, Smoky Slate and Daffodil Delight. The cake is coloured with Stampin Blends and I did a bit of blending on the edge of the die cut. The greeting is Pebbled Path. I stamped a small image from the stamp set both in Azure Afternoon and Balmy Blue on the two square diecuts. This One More Year stamp set is going to be a definite favourite as I create a stack of birthday cards to start the year out.
And as always, don't forget to make the most of your Basic White layer if it will be covered with DSP like I have done here for multiple die cuts. It's also nice to always have a stack of die cuts on the ready whether in Basic White or other colours.
Here is a look at the stamp set. You will want to add it to your wish list!
I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. Be sure to hop around and check them all out!
