Friends of the Ocean by Stampin' Up!

My super talented teammate Leah Dixon (Stampin' with Leah) created a card with this layout and I knew I had to give it a try!  I pulled out the super colourful Friends of the Ocean DSP and got to fussy cutting!

To recreate this design, you need:
  • 3 strips of DSP cut 1/2" x 5 1/4"
  • emobossed cardstock layer, 4" x 5 1/4"
  • die cut circle
  • die cut images
  • sentiment
  • embellishments

Coast to Coast Creators Hop - Colour Inspiration

Fourteen of the month so you know what that means! It's team blog and Insta hop day! This month we are getting our colour inspiration from an image I shared with the group.

As soon as I spent some time looking at the inspiration image, I immediately started pulling paper scraps and knew I would work with the Beautiful Butterflies Bundle. This image even has a bit of the Bokeh fell from the DSP in the suite so I slipped a bit of that in as well.

The colours I pulled into my design were Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Pretty in Pink, Petal Pink, Granny Apple Green and Balmy Blue.  My neutrals were Basic White and Smoky Slate.

I find that by using the embossing folding that is part of the bundle, it is very easy to add a few extra elements and your card is done!  By centering the large butterfly die cut over the same image embossed by the folder, placement is a snap!

I added in some of the 2024-2026 In Colour Shimmer Gems in Summer Splash - they work great with Coastal Cabana.

I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. Be sure to hop around and check them all out!

Coast to Coast Creators Hop: January - April Mini Catalogue

Fourteen of the month so you know what that means! It's team blog and Insta hop day! This month we are showcasing our favourite items in the mini catty!!

There are SO many things to love but I chose to work with the Wildflower Birthday Suite of products.

This card started with the large image layer and went from there. The great thing about this speciality DSP is that there are 2 full sheets of die cuts (not used here) AND there is another 2 sheets that have these "ready to add/stamp" pieces, some of which are big enough to basically be your full card front (like this one).

I mounted the layer on Gold Foil (after I had die cut a bunch of shapes to maximize the foil piece) and then added this to a card base that I had made from the coordinating Wildflower Celebrations 12 x 12 Two Tone Cardstock (not part of the suite but rather part of the scrapbooking brochure). So the outside of the card base is a darker shade of Old Olive and the inside is a lighter shade.

Next up, we needed some sort of sentiment and a way to fill up the middle of the DSP. I die cut the banner from the bundle, tied some of the Gold Open Weave Trim around it and then added my fussy cut greeting.  I wanted to tie in more of the Blueberry Bushel so I used my blending brushes on some Basic White cardstock before stamping with Versamark and heat embossing in White.

Last but not least, a smattering of the Party Dots embellishments in Pretty in Pink.

You don't want to miss out on this Suite - it's a definite winner! In fact, I have just designed an 11 card online class using the Die Cut page from the DSP and the Greetings For All Mix and Match Ephemera Pack. If you're in Canada and interested in this class, send me an email to find out the details; registration closes on the 17th.

I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. Be sure to hop around and check them all out!
