Once a month the larger team I am part of has a virtual team meeting. Someone does a product demonstration, there's prize draws and our team leader leads us in a Mystery Stamping Challenge.
This is the card I created in our most recent challenge. It's a bit of a fun fold as you can see from the photos I've shared below.
This is the information we had to work with:
- Coloured Cardstock:
- 8 1/2" x 3" (scored @ 4 1/4"); 11" x 4 1/4" (scored @ 5 1/2")
- White or Vanilla: 2 x 2 3/4" x 4"
- Ribbon: 18"
- DSP: 4" x 5 1/4" & 2 1/2" x 4" (2 of these if you like)
- label & stamp set to match
I chose to use products from the Earthen Elegance suite. I switched out the ribbon to use the Lost Lagoon Bordered Ribbon over the Natural Wavy Trim as a way to bring in more of the Pretty Peacock tones.
I also chose to use Gray Granite cardstock instead of Basic White or Very Vanilla. I liked how it kept with the colour scheme and I still feel it is light enough to write on. I also added an extra layer of DSP and cardstock on my front panel as well as some embossing. That's the beauty of these challenges, to have a starting point but then make it your own.
Another favourite element of this card is the use of the large die as a label die instead of as a pot/urn. I got this idea from Creative Stamping with Lori who is also part of our team.
Here is a picture of how the card opens:
I though this card had some interesting twists so I've entered it into a Blog Highlights Gallery Competition! I'd love your vote! Use this link and find my card (#4) and click on the heart until it turns red to place your vote!
