Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop - Colour Challenge

Fourteen of the month so you know what that means! It's team blog and Insta hop day! We are doing a Colour Challenge this month!!

Real Red, Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Bubble Bath AND Strawberry Slush - I bet Valentine's is what immediately comes to mind for you, me too, but I don't make Valentine's cards so I went with something else!

Before we know it the annual catalogue will be ending and I sure hope this super Suite Collection will not be retiring with it but there's no guarantee and I know I haven't used it enough!  The option of all the different blooms seemed like a perfect set to work with to incorporate all of the fabulous colours!  And make no mistake, I included them ALL!  The Real Red and Poppy Parade are likely hardest to spot but they are in the tall flowers at the back and I think they look great with all the pinks!

The inspiration for the layout came from a great card I saw from @seeinginkspots with a Valentine's theme.  Aside from white, the other colours I added in were Granny Apple Green and the lighter side of a piece of Two Tone Basic Black.  I used both the Stylish Shapes Dies, as well as the  Textured Notes Dies (on the last chance list, sniff),  these will live in my collection forever but I suggest you get yours now before they are gone, and while they are discounted.

I made a faux bow with the beautiful Strawberry Slush Faux Linen ribbon (available in all of the 2025-2027 in colours) and topped it off with a few embellishments in Strawberry Slush from the Strawberry Slush & Pretty in Pink Gems pack.  And of course, the whole image is backed with a pattern from the In Colour DSP assortment.

I can't wait to see how the rest of the team created with these colours!

Be sure to hop around and check them all out!

Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop - January to April MINI Catalogue

Fourteen of the month so you know what that means! It's team blog and Insta hop day! We are showcasing some of our favourite items from the NEW January to April Mini Catalogue!

Like most folks, I have to be mindful of where I spend my dollars so my pre-order could only contain the items that were MUST-HAVES for me. And one of those bundles was the Greenery Lane Bundle and coordinating Washi Tape.

I wasn't sure where I was going when I started but here are all the elements I had on my desk to work with.

I had a long piece of Basic White cardstock covered in the Washi Tape from which I die cut out several of the images. I also had cardstock die cuts and a couple of stamped die cuts.

My next thought was I wanted to use a Cloud Cover card base. Although not one of the colours in the Washi Tape, the muted Lost Lagoon shade that is there is very close to Cloud Cover.

Next thing I wanted to try, was layering the Washi Tape on a cardstock colour other than Basic White so I put it directly on a Cloud Cover layer.

Then I just started laying the die cuts across the card front. It quickly began to look similar to one of the samples in the catalogue and so I just ran with it. It'd similar but not the same and I love how it turned out.

I also incorporated Secret Sea into the colour scheme, it is an excellent grounding neutral with the other colours.

Lastly, I wanted to add some stamping on the inside.  I considered the small floral image but because I feel like the front of the card is gender neutral, I wanted to keep the inside the same. So I took the large leaf image and stamped portions of it along one edge using Secret Sea.

I can't wait to see how the rest of the team chose to showcase from all the amazing options in the January to April Mini Catty!

Be sure to hop around and check them all out!

Stampin' Up!'©'s soon to be released Greenery Lane Bundle & Washi Tape

With the holiday season now behind us, I have been embracing creating with soon to be available items when the January - April mini catty goes live on January 6th!

For this post, I chose to CASE one of the sample cards from page... in the catty featuring the Greenery Lane Bundle & Washi Tape.

You will see that I first did a direct CASE with only the embellishments being different and then for the video, I put more of my own spin on the design to create a slightly different look.

Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop - Sketch Challenge!

Fourteen of the month so you know what that means! It's team blog and Insta hop day! We are doing a sketch challenge and it's a good one!

I am behind the 8 ball as I am both making and sending holiday cards in a mad rush so this sketch challenge was definitely an easy way for me to make some last minute cards. (I loved my design so much, I made cut and prepped 3 more at the same time!)

In addition to the sketch for inspiration, some of the key elements were inspired by a card I had seen from Verena Shapiro (simple_stamper).

This card was pretty quick to come together. Layers of DSP, some fussy cutting, and some layers of circle die cuts. I also took the sentiment from the ephemera back and used my blending brushes and Memento ink to change the background from white to black. A game changer in my opinion in upping the sophistication of the final design.

The trees are fussy cut from one of the sheets of DSP in which they were in groups of 2 or 3 so I put 2 groups together. As always, I cut out a second shape from my foil piece to get the most out of my high price point papers. A patterned die cut for the Basic Black circle and some embossing on the Basic White layer help to bring it all together.

So if you are in need of a good sketch to finish up your holiday cards or just a great sketch for any of your crafting, give this one a try!

I can't wait to see how the rest of the team chose to showcase from all the amazing options in the September - December mini Catty!

Waterfall Gift Card Holder made using Stampin' Up!®️ products

A good friend saw something similar to this on Etsy and asked if I could make one.  So I sat down with a ruler, a gift card and some Pinterest videos and set to work!
