This month's hop is all about the July - December Mini Catty from Stampin' Up!® I'm so excited to hop to everyone's blogs and see which products they decided to showcase!
I wanted to showcase a favourite suite/bundle that wasn't holiday themed so Splendid Day Suite for the win! Now, I actually only used the Splendid Thoughts bundle for this card. The suite also includes amazing DSP and ribbon.
This card was inspired by a design I saw from Narelle Farrugia. I love the idea of partial blending over the Artistic Mix Decorative Mask. I've had these since May and this was my first time playing with them! There are 5 masks with 2 pairs that can layer over each other, as I've done, for a more detailed design.
I blended first using Fresh Freesia with the open pattern mask and then blended with the more detailed pattern using Orchid Oasis. How about these purples together?!
Next step was to create a combination of die cuts, and stamped die cuts, to layer over the background for the focal image. I just love the crispness of the white cutout amongst the purples.
If this bundle is not in your collection yet, you won't regret adding it. This images and dies are stunning, and suitable for so many occasions!
I think this card would make a beautiful wedding card, hence the sentiment I chose and showcased up top. But I don't go to too many weddings anymore so I created an alternate version with a sentiment I could use for a birthday or other celebration. I will tuck this card away with neither attached so I have some options when the time comes to use it.
A few other fun features to note:
- the double white layers before mounting on the Orchid card base
- the white crinkle ribbon (I tried many other options but this matched the delicate & fancy feel the best)
- the in colour matte decorative dots (the ombre options in this pack of embellishments is the best).
