My dad is turning 80 in a few weeks.... eighty! Pretty great. We are a family of long livers - my great grandma was 104, both my grandparents lived into their 90s and all of my dad's sisters are still living - so it really isn't a big surprise but it is still great that we can celebrate this milestone.
I've had a different card, using the He's The Man Suite ready for him for months but then I saw this idea from Cindy Schuster and I knew I had to give it a go!
My dad's hobby is to build hotrods which made this background DSP and the die-cut a given. With DSP this busy though, I needed to tone it down so I grabbed a sheet of the Lovely Layers Vellum. I liked the effect the subtle dots added to the card versus just plain vellum.
The year is die-cut using the Playful Alphabet dies, sadly retired, in Cajun Craze. I added a second black line underneath using my black Stampin' Write Marker.
The concept of this card, Cindy's concept, is so brilliant. I plan to make some other versions for milestones like an upcoming 30th, a future 13th and a 50th.
