You guessed it, team blog hop time again! There was really no other choice but to feature all things SALEABRATION!! With Stampin' Up!®'s Salebration extravaganza on for only the month's of January and February, we wanted to showcase as many of the amazing FREE products as possible to ensure you had lots of time to grab your favourites!
I decided to showcase both the Awesome Otters stamp set AND the Sunshine & Rainbows designer series paper. Both items are level 1 freebies which means you can choose them with a $60 purchase.
I am featuring a fun technique I saw on Pinterest and dubbed the Stack & Shuffle Technique.
I saw it featured by Mary Knabe. It involves cutting 4 pieces of DSP (5 1/4" x 4") into 4 different sized pieces (see below) and then piecing them back together but one of each pattern.
The result is 4 different, but similar cards showcasing coordinating DSP patterns!
I wanted to use 4 different coloured card bases so I chose to frame my DSP pieces with a Basic White layer. If I were to make these again using this extra layer, I would start with my DSP at 5 1/8" x 3 7/8".
Cutting instructions for the DSP:
- Stack the 4 pieces of DSP. With stack in vertical position, cut at 2 3/4". Turn stack of wide strips to horizontal position, and cut at 3". Turn stack of narrow strips to horizontal position, and cut at 2".
I had some fun colouring these otters and worked with a few combinations.
For each of them I found that I liked the Ivory for the tummy. I then played with the dark & light combo of either Cinnamon Cider, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede as the main body.
Cinnamon Cider turned out to be my preference.
I also had a blast mixing and matching ribbons and embellishments to this Amazing DSP that is just so bright and colourful.
I used the 2020-2022 In Colour Square Gems or the Playing with Patterns Resin Dots.
For ribbons, I used the Crinkled Seam Binding, the Open Weave Ribbon or the twine from the Flowers for Every Season Combo Pack.
You won't regret choosing either of these products as your Saleabration freebie with your next $60 order. The question is, will you be able to choose just one?!
Drop a comment, I'd love to know what you think.
