Slimline Card with Stampin' Up!®'s Saleabration Daffodil Afternoon DSP

So as a demonstrator with Stampin' Up!®, I typically end up earning all of the free items during Saleabration as I use this time to stock up on adhesives and white cardstock as well as grab a 6 month Paper Pumpkin subscription.  Some items I love, others I don't really care for.  This DSP is so beautiful!  Even better, it coordinates with an entire bundle (stamps & dies) in the January to June mini catalogue as well.

Thing is I don't have the bundle. And quite honestly, I don't plan to get it.  No problem!  This paper is SO gorgeous you don't need to pair it with more daffodils!  The paper stands on its own, could be paired with any die and sentiment, or add a bit of ribbon or embellishments. Which made it the perfect paper to feature on a slimline card which measures at 3 1/2" x 8 1/2".

Or, do like I did, and pull out one of the other flowers featured, like the daisy.  I chose this super busy print, one I might normally find hard to work with, and paired it with my Medium and Large Daisy Punches. I chose a Daffodil Delight cardstock base layered with Very Vanilla. For the daisies, I pulled out the Flirty Flamingo from the DSP and stamped (using Daisy Lane) on Very Vanilla.

And then to tone down the vibrancy and busyness of the pattern, I added a layer of vellum.  I used another Saleabration item - the Special Moments stamp set - for my greeting which is stamped on a die from the Tasteful Labels Dies. To finish it all off, a small flight of the Brushed Brass Butterflies from the January to June Catty.

I'm really pleased with how this card turned out and I am likely going to make a bunch more. It doesn't hurt that I ended up with over 200 standard business envelopes, sized for this style of cards, free of charge accidently from a packaging error. Even better though, Stampin' Up!® is offering beautiful slimline envelopes in the January to June catty.

The Saleabration items will only be available until the end of February.  The DSP is available to choose with a $60 order while the stamp set I used is available to choose with an order of $120.  Don't miss out!
