West Coast Creators Blog Hop - For The Men In Your Life (June 2021)

Woo Hoo! It's team blog hop time again! And this time, we are sharing creations for the men in your life. Those masculine cards can be so hard to come up with so be sure to visit all the bloggers for their great ideas.

As you can see, I went with a card geared towards Father's Day but it could also be used for dad's birthday or just because. This is the third design I have created since I opened up my Hats Off Bundle. It's pretty addictive once you start stamping with it!

Let's start with the mini hats. I used this die to create a handful of mini black hats. I then adhered these randomly to a piece of DSP from the In Good Taste DSP which I had embossed with the Tasteful Textile folder. By doing this, you can create your own DSP of sorts.

All the hats I have created so far, I have played around with a tone tone hat by stamping on two different colours of cardstock and cutting and pasting. For this hat, I stuck with monotone, but I attempted to create a mesh look like you find on the majority of hats at the back. To do this, I used the waffle texture stamp from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set. I created a mask, to ensure I didn't stamp outside of the lines. I realized, after the fact, that I could have just stamped directly onto a single hat (versus cutting and pasting) but at least this way you can see how to do the cut and past part.

Once I had the those two aspects worked out, it was just a matter of adding a few other features. I grabbed some DSP from the Well Suited DSP for my background, Merry Merlot as my accent colour and the Matte Black Dots as my embellishment.
