I generally stick to following the Paper Pumpkin kit instructions as they are because, let's be honest, they are Fabulous!
Having said that, I was having a little trouble wrapping my head around the Merry Merlot card that was presented in the kit. Off to the drawing board to come up with something that I was happier with. TA DA!
Here's what I did:
I cut the card base in half (and trimmed each to 5 1/4" x 4"); I then used the back of the base as the Merry Merlot layer you see on my card front and used the original card front (turned over), as a white liner inside my Basic Black card.
As this kit was designed to coordinate with the Saleabration Flowers & Field DSP, I used two different designs to create my card front. I have been fussy cutting these big flowers for multiple designs lately and I just love how they look!
I stamped this beautiful sentiment from the stamp set in the kit using Versamark Ink on Basic Black Cardstock. I then heat embossed with White Embossing Powder and fussy cut around the words.
Final touches are a few of the black sequins included in the kit, as well as a piece of twine from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack in the Annual Catty.
I'm super pleased with this alternate design and hope you like it too!
(note: DSP layer on card front is 3" x 4 3/4")
