West Coast Creators Blog Hop (June 2020) - NEW Annual Catty Products

It's that time again.... West Coast Creators Blog Hop!  14th of every month you can find us hopping. You won't want to miss out on anyone's blog as all of these ladies are sharing amazing designs and techniques!

This month's theme is any new product from the recently released annual catalogue! I'll admit that with two pre-orders as well as another order on go live day, I had quite a few options to work with! (my credit card is still smoking, lol!)

I chose to go with the Nothing's Better Than Bundle. It is one of the new sets that was inspired by a Stampin' Up!® demo who is a million sales achiever! Not only do I love the font of the four big stamps, the witty greetings to go with them are the best!  My personal favourite, 'because adulting is hard'.  Yup, it sure can be!

This card was inspired by the current sketch challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments (you can find this at the end of the blog).  It's the perfect sketch for this set as there is an image to match each of the four themes offered in the set.  And cookies was the perfect theme to introduce you to Cinnamon Cider, one of the AMAZING new 2020-2022 in-colours!  I've paired it here with Early Espresso and Whisper White for a clean, tone on tone themed design.

This set is full of two step stamping images which allows you to create a detailed image as well as give it some depth with a second solid stamp.  You can see this with the cookie. I stamped the solid image in Cinnamon Cider and then stamped directly over it with the detailed image in Early Espresso.  I did this directly on the Whisper White.  For the 'popped up' cookie, I stamped only the detailed image in Early Espresso directly on to Cinnamon Cider cardstock. I then cut this out with the coordinating dies.

The 'greeting' is another one of the dies.  At first I though it would die cut as a single cut out but it cuts out each of the words individually but out of the same day.  The new adhesive sheets are a must for this. Way easier than fiddling with glue or Stampin' Seal on those intricate letters.  I adhered the words to the Story Label punch shape in Cinnamon Cider and added to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

To follow the sketch, I cut two thin strips from the in-colour DSP pack to adhere to the left hand side of the card.  I also added a strip of the new Early Espresso faux suede ribbon.  To finish it off, a few of the new in-colour enamel dots.

I plan to make a version of this card using each of the themes in the stamp set so be sure to check out my Facebook or Instagram to see how those turned out!
