Kylie's Demonstrator Training Monthly Blog Hop - Mini Catalogue Sneak Peak Project (December 2019)

This card was created with the Forever Blossoms stamp set from the upcoming Mini Catalogue (valid January 3rd - May 31st). Not only is this stamp set a stunner, it can be purchased as part of a bundle with coordinating dies as well being as it is part of the larger Parisian Blossoms Suite of products.

I'm super excited to be participating in this amazing blog hop for the third month straight and hope you love my project as much as I do! I finally found some time to take a break from Christmas themed crafting and to create with two of the sets I came home from OnStage with!  I am over the moon with the end result and even more excited that it also qualifies for Stampin' Up!'s® December Simple Stamping Challenge.

I stamped this image both multiple times and in many orientations (vertical, sideways, upside down).
I chose to use Basic Gray ink for a softer look to my line images.

To stamp this image multiple times, you can do one of two things: You can stamp the large image on a scrap of paper and then fussy cut it. This will now act as a mask for you to lay over stamped images on the card front to avoid any overlapping and allowing you to stamp your entire image each time.

OR you can do like I did for this card as I was too lazy to make a mask and had my simply shammy handy.

I stamped the large image on the card front and then for each subsequent part of the image, I stamped up my stamp and then shammy'd off the ink on any part of the image I didn't want.  It ended up working out perfectly!  In addition to the large image from the set, I also used both of the smaller single flower images to fill in any gaps I wasn't happy with.

Of course this card front would not be complete without colouring in these beautiful line images.  I chose four colour families of Stampin' Blends to use: Flirty Flamingo, Rococo Rose, Petal Pink and Old Olive.  I also used the Color Lifter as I found the Rococo Rose (both the light and dark) to be too pigment rich for my liking with this colour scheme.

The sentiment for this card came from the Peaceful Moments stamp set. It was stamped in Old Olive.  It promises to be one of my new favourites and a set I'm sure you will want to add to your collection. It has lots of great sentiments for many occasions all using a really beautiful font. It too can be purchased as a bundle with coordinating dies and is also part of a larger suite (Peaceful Poppies) of products.

Perfect Little Mittens

Can you spot what is wrong with the red card?
Did you catch my share of this cutie on Instagram today?

I first saw this idea on carebearstamps Instagram feed and knew I had to CASE  it. (copy and share everything, or for me, copy and selectively edit)

To make this card, I started with shimmery white paper.  I chose this so that I could use my aquapainter for the green circle.  The shimmery white is thicker so it allows you to water colour on it.  It also shimmers so it is super pretty when you don't have, or want to use, watercolour paper.

The circle was created by masking it off using a scrap that I had die cut a circle out of.  I used washi to tape it to the card front and then used my aqua painter and some ink from my old olive reinker to colour the circle. I used a brad as my hanger for the pair of mittens on the twine.  The mittens are from the Let It Snow embellishment kit.  The twine I used was a scrap I had of the retired white with silver so to recreate this card, you'd need to use white twine.

Because I wanted to draw attention to the word jolly (stamp is from the Christmas Gleaming stamp set which will carry over to the next holiday catalogue but will not be available between January - September), I used my Stampin' Write® markers in  Basic Black and Real Red or Basic Black and Bermuda Bay. Using your makers for a mutli-coloured stamping is super easy (but does work best on red rubber stamps over photopolymer).  Don't forget to huff on the markered image before you stamp it as it will re-moisten the ink to ensure a crisp image (whatever you coloured first will have dried by the time you are finished with the markers).

I used scraps of DSP for the background from both the Let it Snow DSP (red) and a retired package (bermuda bay).  The Old Olive card base was embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder for some texture and added interest.

Hope you like it!

Kylie's Demonstrator Training Monthly Blog Hop - Gift Card Holder (November 2019)

Thank you so much for hopping along with this amazing group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from Around The WORLD!  There are so many talented demos on this hop so please be sure to continue hopping after you view my page.

Hello! So glad you have stopped by today.  I thought I would share a gift card holder and holiday card all wrapped into one.  Of course, you could easily change up the theme and use this same layout and design for all sorts of occasions (piece of cake stamp set and punch comes to mind). It's once you open it that you will find the gift card pocket.

Here is a look at my design as you would see it when you first pull it out of the envelope.  It looks like any other card except for it only has 1/2 of a card front.

This design does only allow for 1/2 as much writing space but if you are anything like my husband, the less room to write the better!! lol!

I am always looking for ways to use non seasonal items in my seasonal cards.  Why you might ask?  Well first it allows me more options when I'm picking out paper, ribbon or embellishments, but more importantly, it allows my customers more options when they don't have as many holiday items as I do. It shows them ways they might take non holiday patterns and pair them with a holiday image for a really great end result.

I loved this Come To Gather Designer Series Paper even though I purchased no fall stamp sets and really don't make autumn themed cards. Quite honestly, these paper ended up on this card as a happy accident.  I had planned to use a holiday DPS so cut and scored my Merry Merlot cardstock with that in mind but when it came time to measure out the DSP, I wasn't going to have enough for both my card and the cards I needed to prep for my technique club. So I had to find new DSP and it had to have Merry Merlot in it. I also love how I could use the Mint Macaron 1/4" textile ribbon from the annual catalogue.

Measurements for this card:
1. Cut 4.25 x 11"
2. Score at 2.5" and 5.5" (on the long side)

3. From the centre of the top edge of the 2.5" section, Punch half of a 1" circle (this allows you to slide the gift card in and out easily)
4. Use Tear and Tape down the sides only of the 2.5" section to adhere to the card and make the pocket for the gift card.
5. DSP measures 4 x 2.75", Whisper White (lines inside of card) measures 4 x 5.25"
6. Find a sentiment which is small enough to show on the 2.25" of liner that is showing

Brightly Gleaming Suite Christmas Card

I made this beautiful card last week on my Facebook Friday Coffee and Cards!  It is a selective CASE from the holiday catalogue meaning I copied many of the design elements exactly but also added some of my own and switched up some others.

I'm really pleased with the final result and all the depth this card has to it.  There are a lot of elements so it is a little bit more advanced but don't let that stop you from creating a version of your own! All the info you need is in the video included in this post!

With this paper, card designs are so easy because it’s stunning!!

This was one of my most popular designs for my October classes! The paper makes any layout look amazing!

It's hard to tell from the photo unfortunately but this card is vanilla based which I love.  So much of what we make centres around Whisper White Cardstock so I'm always looking for cards where I can bring is some Very Vanilla.

This Brightly Gleaming Designer Series paper has these fabulous copper foil accents mixed with Pretty Peacock, Night of Navy and Mossy Meadow.  I decided to play with the navy and peacock.

I used Pretty Peacock cardstock for my base and then layered a piece of Very Vanilla (4 x 5.25). Next step was to stamp the sentiment (from the Everything Festive stamp set) in the upper 1/2 using Pretty Peacock ink. It's always best to stamp first in case you make a mistake and have to turn the paper over.  After that, adhere the DSP (cut 5 1/8 x 1 7/8) leaving a border all around.

I love using annual catalogue items in my Christmas card classes so I was happy to be able to tie in the 3/8 " Reversible Ribbon (showcasing the peacock side of course) and the Baker's Twine (night of navy/sahara sand).

Next up was the ornaments from the Christmas Gleaming Bundle.  There is a punched ornament in Night of Navy as well as a stamped ornament (navy on vanilla).  Ornaments are layered and adhered to each other and then added to the card front with dimensionals.  The twine bow is added with a glue dot.

The finishing touch is 3 Night of Navy Rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.  If you don't have these rhinestones but you have clear rhinestones and a Dark Night of Navy Blends Marker, you can quickly make your own navy rhinestones.  A great trick for any blends colour you might have!

Kylie's Demonstrator Training Monthly Blog Hop - October 2019

Here is it!  My first time joining this amazing Monthly Blog Hop of International Stampin' Up! Demonstrators.  Thanks for hopping by!

I received a card last week and knew I wanted to CASE it!  Here is my version, which has been selectively edited.  The original can be seen in the still clip of the video plus it is show in its entirety in the video.

My starting point for this card was the Mercury Glass Designer Acetate. After that, it was a pretty fluid design process as I wanted to get a live video out but was pressed for time.  I'm still pleased with the end result but can't wait to make several more versions of this card with a bit more planning time.  I'm thinking the Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper and the Pine Tree Punch..... Stay tuned!

I found it hard to photograph well but this card uses Purple Posy (not white) wherever you see light coloured cardstock. It also uses the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder

Festive Fun with a Sketch for Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #323

I love taking part in the Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenges whenever I can find the time. They are a great way to get me into my craft room and often give me a starting point for a card I need to work on anyway.

This time the challenge was a sketch (see below). It allowed me to work with two new stamp sets, one new set of dies, one new embossing folder, new ribbon, new DSP and some foil paper from the annual catalogue that I hadn't shown any love to.  Oh, and some fun coloured rhinestones!

This card all started with the star at the forefront which is from the Shine Bright stamp set.  You have to fussy cut it out but it's an easy cut and so worth it!  To keep with the star them, I went to the So Many Stars Bundle. After looking at all of my new holiday DSP, I settled on this piece from the Night Before Christmas DSP pack and my colour scheme was decided from there.
I didn't want a vanilla nested die piece as I felt it would be too start with the rest of the card so I went through all my papers again and stumbled across my yet to be used Noble Peacock foil sheets (annual catalogue). I still didn't want just the flat foil so I used the new Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder.
Instead of a stamped sentiment, I pulled out the 1/2" classic weave ribbon and cut out a section with my holiday wish.  It needed to be framed so I used another colour of the Noble Peacock foil sheets. I love how it all came together.
In keeping with the sketch, I finished it off with some Noble Peacock Rhinestones.
