Gillybean Crafting : Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop

Fourteen of the month so you know what that means! It's team blog and Insta hop day! This month we are highlighting some of our favourite items from the January - April mini catty.

I couldn't really decide which products to use but I wanted to try an idea I'd seen with the paintbrush so Trusty Tools it was! And I added another favourite with the Hooray for Surprises Bundle.

The idea of the flowers on the paintbrush was inspired by this card in the Sweet Thoughts Memories and More card pack. I haven't captured it quite the same so I will definitely be making another version that is truer to the image on the card. My design shifted slightly after seeing a card video by Frenchie Stamps with this concept of three brushes and their paint trails.

This design starts with the stamping of the three brushes which I then coloured using my Stampin' Blends. Next, I stamped the smudge of paint on each brush and then used my Blending Brushes to add the coordinating swoosh of paint on the paper. I worked with Fresh Freesia, Coastal Cabana and Pretty Peacock. Once that was done, I ran the piece through the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder to add to the feel of the painted concept.

Then it was time to stamp and die cut the flowers. All three flowers are from the Hooray for Surprises Bundle. Two being stamps & dies and the third is a die cut only. I added it a pop of yellow here with Daffodil Delight. For the flower centres, I added embellishments from both the Tinsel Gem 3 and 4 pack.

This is also a bit of a fun fold Z card where the front panel is scored halfway and folded back on itself. You can't tell when it's closed, but it creates some fun visual interest when it is open. I was inspired to also stamp on the inside as Frenchie demonstrated in her video.
