Fourteen of the month so you know what that means! It's team blog and Insta hop day! This month I challenged everyone to create with this sketch I found from Mojo Monday.
I used the Radiating Stiches Die set to die cut my rectangle and chose to use more of the DSP for this versus a plain piece of cardstock. I then stamped directly on this layer with Versamark and heat embossed in white. I worked with the Layering Leaves stamp set and the coordinating Bough punch.
I love this set of dies but often forget that it is in my collection until I see someone else using it. It's a nice alternative to the Stylish Shapes & Deckled Rectangles Dies.
Although not prescribed in the sketch, I felt I needed some sort of focal point so I utilized the Bough Punch to create a small bouquet for my design. I punched both shapes in vellum as well as in the Soft Shimmer Paper (this is a great addition to your collection if you don't have it yet).
A double bow of white Baker's Twine was all that was needed to ground the collection of pieces and keep with the simple style of the overall design.
I added a layer of vellum over the Fresh Freesia cardstock as I wanted it to be more muted behind the DSP. For my two stripes along the bottom half of the design I used the Night of Navy Bordered Ribbon and the Metallic Woven Ribbon in Starry Sky.
I'm really happy with the end result and wouldn't hesitate to make multiples of this card using some of the other DSP patterns in the pack.
I can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with. Be sure to hop around and check them all out!
Drop a comment, I'd love to know what you think.
