Gillybean Crafting : Colour Challenge - Global Design Project #301 (Stampin' Up!'s® Polished Pink, Night of Navy, Coastal Cabana)

All these inspiring creative challenges pop into my email or social media feeds but I just don't seem to find time for most of them. This week I was determined to get a card designed for this fun and fresh colour challenge from the Global Design Project.

This upcoming Saleabration freebie from Stampin' Up!® is a winner and and I couldn't wait to show it off! Delicate Dahlias is a two step, distINKtive photopolymer set to be earned with any purchase of $120 CAD between Aug 3 - Sept 30. It is GORGEOUS and you will want to have it!

I had so much fun stamping these dahlias. I took 3 different approaches with the Polished Pink blooms. The very back bloom is full strength with a very 'juicy' ink pad for both images. The bloom up top is using that same ink pad but with the background image stamped 2nd generation and the accent image at full strength. The front bloom is using the same ink pad after pushing a bunch of the ink to one side. This temporarily creates a 'less juicy' pad and allowed for a full strength stamp of the background image with good definition. I then stamped the accent image using Versamark and heat embossed with White powder. I used the latter two approaches for the Coastal Cabana blooms.

To tie in the Navy, I die cut a piece of Night of Navy Ombre Specialty Paper. I used the largest Ornate Layers Die. I wanted to add another pop of the pink behind the navy so I grabbed a sheet of the In Colour Vellum. Now the vellum is shimmery as well so I turned it over! A quick way to get a matte version for all your projects.

Last step was a sentiment from the same stamp set. I stamped with Versamark on Cabana cardstock and heat embossed in white.
