Gillybean Crafting : West Coast Creators Blog Hop - Last Chance Items (April 2021)

It's that time of month! Blog hopping with some of my stamping besties from the West Coast Creators!! We are focusing on items that will be retiring come May 3rd and I've gone with the Rooted in Nature bundle of products again (plus a few more items I'll point out).

I really wanted to showcase both the stamps and dies plus work with only retiring items for DSP and embellishments if I could. Aside from the cardstock and the gold metallic pears, everything else you see is a last chance item!

This card started with the Sahara Sand Stitched Shapes Circle and went from there. Initially I had stamped directly on the circle but I didn't love that so I switched to stamped, die cut shapes instead. I did two of each, one at full strength and one stamped off. I used Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow & Cajun Craze.

Next I layered some of the World Of Good DSP behind it. I used another Stiched Shapes Die here - man am I ever going to miss being able to use those in classes! (I'll be keeping for my personal cards for sure!). I also ran both of these pieces of DSP through with the Old World Paper Embossing Folder.

And because I was on such a roll with retiring items, I added in both ribbons from the Forever Greenery Suite... I really love how this looks on the card and will likely incorporate this into more designs moving forward.

Last but not least, after embossing a layer of cardstock with the Scripty Embossing Folder, I took a page from demo Krista Frattin of Stampin' Dolce who loves to give her corners a little roughing up to look worn and then she folds them. It's easy to do and adds a nice weathered look to your designs.
