Gillybean Crafting : West Coast Creators Blog Hop (November 2020)

Another month in the books and it's time again to hop with my super crafty friends on our West Coast Creator's team. This month, I'm hopping with a card I made recently using a gem from the annual catalogue. I've had my eye on this bundle since May and finally grabbed it when I had earned myself a 50% off item.

Oh. My. Gosh!! What had I been waiting for?! This bundle is AMAZING! I can't wait to create cards for ALL the seasons!

This layout came from a recent sketch challenge and when I saw it, I knew I had to use the Arrange A Wreath Bundle for my design. I mean, who doesn't love a good holiday wreath?! I love my December walks around the neighbourhood when I can admire all the different style of wreaths I see.

Now to make this particular card, you do need a die-cutting machine. The only stamping that I have done is the greeting. However, there is a beautiful wreath stamp within the stamp set so if you don't have a machine (yet), you still can't go wrong with this stamp set.

To make the wreath itself, I die-cut two of the leaf dies, one in Garden Green and one in Mossy Meadow. I then sandwiched in-between those two layers, one of the holly/twig die cuts in Pear Pizzazz. I love the fullness the three layers give the wreath and the depth and richness the colour combination brings. I used the Multipurpose Liquid Glue to attach the 3 layers together and then Stampin' Dimensionals to add to the card front.

Next we needed 3 flowers, or some other point of interest. I chose to use the Poinsettia Die and did two layers for each of the 3 flowers. I personally love that poinsettias come in many colours and created mine using Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Blushing Bride. To put these together, I simply offset the petals and adhered. They are then added to the wreath with the adhesive of your choice.

For the centre of each poinsettia, I dug out my Gold Glitter Enamel Dots (another gem from the annual catalogue), and used all 3 sizes to give each flower a unique centre from the next. I really love this effect although I think the centre with the 6 smallest dots might be my favourite of the three.

Finishing details were to stamp the holiday greeting from the Arrange a Wreath stamp set in Mossy Meadow on a Very Vanilla Banner (using the Banners Pick a Punch from the mini catty). The wreath was mounted on a piece of DSP from the In Good Taste pack which I had run through with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder. All of this was mounted on a thick Very Vanilla cardstock base.
