Kylie's Demonstrator Training Monthly Blog Hop (March 2020) - Lilypads and Brayered Blended Layers

Twice a month my team lead throws down a creative challenge to inspire us to create and try something new.  This is one of our recent challenges - use sponge daubers or brayers somewhere on  your project - and I'm so happy to share it on this monthly blog hop for Kylie Bertucci's demonstrator training!

I started playing with brayers probably about 6 months ago.  Another member of our team was making the most incredible scenic backgrounds with them and assured me I could do the same.  She was right!  Using brayers is easier than you might think and a simple way to create STUNNING effects on your projects.

I used 3 shades of pink to brayer a scrap of Whisper White paper before I then stamped and die cut my lily.  I chose to work with Lovely Lipstick, Melon Mambo and Flirty Flamingo (in that order from bottom to top).  My colour choices were inspired by the colour palette in the Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper which is the paper you see across the bottom of the card.

After brayering my paper, I then took the large lily stamp from the Lovely Lily Pad stamp set and used my Stampin' Write Markers (in the same 3 shades of pink) to allow me to stamp the image in 3 shades as well.  I love how perfectly I was able to match up the detailing colours with my brayering due to the photopolymer stamp. After die cutting the lily, I also traced over the lines with my Wink of Stella glitter pen to really make it sparkle.

To finish off the design, I stamped the lily pad on one of the Garden Green sides of the designer series paper and die cut. Instead of using ribbon to bridge the transition from the DSP to the card stock, I used this great die cut from the Lily Pad Dies in Coastal Cabana.

The card base I chose is Pool Party and again all of the colour choices are drawn from the DSP colour palette. The sentiment is from So Sentimental stamp set and was stamped using my Stampin' Write markers in both Pool Party and Coastal Cabana.  To finish it all off, why some rhinestones of course!! The bottom 3 are in Melon Mambo from the Noble Peacock Rhinestones and the top two are the Basic Rhinestones.

I love how this card came together and it would be so easy to recreate with a variety of lily colours based on the different designs in the DSP.
