Although most of what I do is handmade cards, I will dabble in other things from time to time. Like this home decor item using the Perennial Flower punch. So quick, and also inexpensive, to make. Would you like one? Or better yet, would you like to attend a class to make one? CASE: @dragonflypapercrafts #gillybeancrafting #handmadehomedecor #perennialflowerpunch #instablog

Playing along with Hand Stamped Sentiments
I like to play along with a few different creative challenges when I get the chance. And they are a perfect starting point if I need to create a specific card and need a little inspiration. These most recent HSS challenge, HSSSC#317, was perfect for some thank you cards I wanted for my recent BOGO orders.
It allowed me to try out some of the new products I hadn't used yet and of course, some of the old favourites! This card started with the sentiment and the Birch Background stamp and then went from there. I wanted one of the new ribbons that was a bit thinner which brought in the Mint Macaron color scheme and the DSP and embellishments were added based on that. I love how the new Designer Elements embellishments tie in the Sahara Sand from the DSP. I wasn't sold on them to start but I love them here and think they offset the mini flower embellishment nicely.
This card was quick to put together and I'm looking forward to making 5 or so more!
Here is the sketch I followed.
You can see I pretty much followed it to a T.

Here is my first stepped up version of the simple stamping card that I shared earlier. This is intended for the casual stamper. I’ve added some DSP in order to: create a second layer, bring in another colour and up the visual interest. What do you think? I love how the in-colour and colour family paper stacks have this small buffalo check pattern which pairs perfectly with the bigger check in the background stamp! #gillybeancrafting #steppedupcard #instablog #buffalochecks
