Santa's Workshop Suite

If you follow any sort of Stampin' Up! social media, you will be seeing this suite of products everywhere!  It is so darn cute!  Today, I am showcasing some super quick tags I made.

All of the images (Mrs. Claus, elf, gifts and North Pole sign) are cut out of the amazing DSP using the coordinating framelits!  It's so awesome!  And they designed the paper in such a way that there is space between each image you would want to cut out so no image is wasted!!!

I then stamped the sentiment (in Memento) on the Mrs. Claus tag and the Seal of the North Pole (in Poppy Parade) on the elf tag and added the Poppy Parade ribbon.  Easy Peasy! I also stamped North Pole on the sign post in Memento.

These tags took about 5 minutes to create!  You will not regret ordering this suite of products.  Unfortunately, it has proven to be so popular that both the DSP and the Memories and More Cards are already on back order!  But not to worry - they are both due to be back in stock mid October - still plenty of time to get in your order and all your crafting before the holidays!

Creative Challenge - Fall

Although I have my own small team of demonstrators - The Crafty Beans - I am, and they are as well, all part of a bigger team  - The West Coast Creators.  And twice a month, we are given a creative challenge.  This time - Fall

This was the card I created and I love it!  I love the simplicity. I love the strength it portrays. I love the message and I love the warmth in the colour scheme.

I chose to work with the Rooted in Nature Suite as well as use up the last piece of a background I had created using embossing paste and re-inkers (I promise a video on this technique soon!). Both pieces of DSP are from the Nature's Poem pack. I used the Stitched Shape Framelits for both the oval and the square tilted on it's side.  I used three different Stampin' Write Markers to achieve the colour scheme on the tree.  I LOVE the markers and use them continuously, even with the introduction of the Stampin' Blends.  I used Early Espresso for the trunk and branches and then Pear Pizzaz and Pumpkin Pie to create the fall foliage. Both the sentiment and tree are from Rooted in Nature as well as the Framelits to cut the tree out.

I felt this would be a perfect sympathy card for a male recipient.  In the end though I sent it to a dear colleague who lost her son.  I felt it was more appropriate than an overly flowery card.

The Rooted in Nature bundle is a bit of an investment as far as cost goes but I guarantee that you won't regret this bigger purchase.  Or why not add it to your Christmas list for your loved ones.  I know that's what I always used to do with bigger sets I really wanted (until I became a demo that is!)

Colour Challenge

Nothing like a sketch or colour challenge to get your creative juices flowing and get your out of your go to crafting comfort zone!

The challenge was to put together Night of Navy, Gorgeous Grape and Flirty Flamingo.  I came up with the design and then opted to make it into a 3x3 rather than have it being a smaller focus on a regular sized card.

The Night of Navy DSP is from the Twinkle Twinkle Suite and cut into a square with the Stitched Shaped Framelits.  I embossed the Gorgeous Grape cardstock with the Lovely Floral embossing folder and then used the Layering Circles Framelits to cut out. The Flirty Flamingo flowers ares stamped from the Pop of Petals set and then punched using the Four Petal Flower punch.  I then used the 2" circle punch to cut out the vellum.  I stamped a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings set (a must) in versamark ink and then embossed with silver embossing powder.

I'm pretty pleased with the end result and might even pair these colours together again!

Memories and More Card Packs

Do you wish you could make your own cards at home but come up with too many reasons why you can't?  It's too expensive. I need too many supplies. I'm not creative enough!

Meet the Memories and More Card Packs from Stampin' Up!. The come with pre-printed cards fronts with both sentiments and patterns.  The entire pack coordinates with itself and easily coordinates with a few other key colours and accessories if you want to jazz them up even more!

Of the two cards pictured above, on the my heart is full card, all I added was a touch of ribbon and some rhinestones but you could easily make the card without it.  For the Thank you you make me smile card, I simply mounted the card pack pieces on a larger piece of black card stock and added a touch of ribbon.

Even better now, Stampin' Up! has added two sized of card bases and envelopes that perfectly match the different sized of the Memories and More card pieces.  The Thanks card on the left is on the larger card base (all I added was twine and a layer that the thanks sticker is on) and the Just a Note card is on the small base. I didn't add a single extra thing to the smaller card and I think it looks just as fabulous.

Stampin' Up! offers mutliple different designs for the Memories and More card packs and even has a holiday version which is available now!
