Twinkle Twinkle Suite - Focusing on the Punch

I wanted to focus on the punch that coordinates with this super sweet suite of products and showcase how it can be the central image of the card front versus just being used to punch out cute shapes.

Twinkle Twinkle Suite

This card was inspired by three things:  I wanted to promote and finally use this suite of products, I need a card for an upcoming wedding and we had a creative sketch challenge on our West Coast Creators team page.

I'm really pleased with the end result. I started with the background paper which is from the Twinkle Twinkle DSP. I then paired that with a piece of Balmy Blue DSP from the Tranquil Textures pack which I had run through the Big Shot with the Stitched Shapes Dies.  I stamped the constellation image from the Little Twinkle stamp set in Night of Navy and then added Wink Of Stella to all of the stars and dots in the image. I used the same DSP to stamp the one sentiment on a small scrap and then bannered the one end.  I layered this with a strip of Dazzling Diamonds (now you would use Sparkle) glimmer paper.

To add the Love sentiment, I ran Whisper White through the big shot using the smallest stitched shape circle and also ran Night Of Navy card stock with the smallest layering scallop circle from the Layering Circles dies. The stamp is from the Labels to Love set which was a set that carried over from last year's holiday catalogue.

At this point I had to decide what colour my card base would be.  I tried this layout set on both a Whisper White card base and Night of Navy. As you can tell, Night of Navy won out. I felt that white was too much of a contrast.

To finish the card off, instead of adding rhinestones or some other embellishment, I used the Twinkle Builder punch to create glimmer paper stars in two sizes. I can't wait to make more of these!

Rooted In Nature Panel Card

The entire Nature's Poem Suite is a must have.  Between the stamp set and framelits to the DSP and twine there is no end to the combination of products and the amazing projects you can create.

This card was inspired, and 100% copied except for the colour scheme, from a card swap I participated in when the catalogue launched in June.

I took a Crumb Cake base to which I added two strips of the Nature's Poem DSP and one strip of Mint Macaron card stock.  The card stock was embossed using the two embossing pieces included in the framelits (this is a new feature with some framelits in that they will emboss rather than cut.)

I then used the framelits to cut out a leaf in each size as well as the branch of smaller leaves.  As I was using this card for a class, I made a template from which I cut out all three pieces so that this card could be mass stamped easily using the Stamparatus and my template. (pic below) The leaves are stamped in Tranquil Tide and the collection of leaves in Mint Macaron. The collection has the appearance of being tied onto the card using the Mint Macaron Twine.

The sentiment is stamped in Tranquil Tide and surrounded by three rhinestones, one of each size.  An alternate to rhinestones would have been to use the Faceted Gems in Mint instead.

As the DSP has similar papers in different colour schemes, this card is easy to recreate with Grapefruit Grove and Petal Pink.

The template I made for the Stamparatus so that I could punch out multiple shapes and then stamp all three at once!

Can`t Get Enough of this Fancy Fold and the Broadway Bound Suite!

I couldn't resist sharing both this fancy fold and suite of products with my most recent class.  It's super easy to create but allows for an interesting layout and a smile when your recipient finds out how it opens.

The card base is Basic Black and the DSP is one of the patterns from the Broadway Bound Specialty Papers (think gold foil on one side of each design).

To create the base, you cut a piece of 8.5 x 11 card stock on the diagonal.  You then score along the long edge at 5.5 and then the short edge at 4.25. The DSP is then a rectangle of 5.25 x 4 also cut on the diagonal.  Depending on the pattern, you need to plan out how to cut your diagonal.  (watch the video below to see what I mean)

I used the Layering Circles Framelits for the Whisper White and Lovely Lipstick pieces.  I stamped the candle image three times in Lovely Lipstick and then used my Basic Black marker to draw the wick.  The candle flame is Soft Suede first stamped off on a scrap and then stamped on the card. The entire sentiment/image piece is then attached to the card front using dimensionals on only one half.  I have attached it to the bottom half of the card.  In order for the card to open, you can only attach to one half. I also added a few of the Metallic Pearls for added interest.
