Colour Challenge - Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay & Powder Pink

Twice a month my upline puts out a creative challenge for those of us on her team. It is completely up to us if we participate but we are entered into a draw for a freebie if we do.

This most recent challenge was a colour combo challenge. Not necessarily three colours I would have put together but I’m really happy with the end result. I knew I wanted to use the Sea of Textures Bundle to create this card so the octopus and sea grass were my starting point.

I’m going to send this to a friend with some stuff going on hence the messaging inside and out. The front sentiment is actually from the Coffee Cafe stamp set and the inside is from Sorry for Everything set. Both are portions of a bigger sentiment so I had to get creative with ink pads or use markers to get only the bits I wanted.

The DSP is part of the Tranquil Textures Suite. I then added a bit more texture to it by stamping the net image onto it in the same tone (crumb cake). I used the Seaside embossing folder as well.

Rooted In Nature

Although I have worked with this set at OnStage in Red Deer, I had yet to open up my open stamps and framelits. Finally today, I CASEd a Rhonda Wade card and put this suite into action!

The card is a combination of Mint Macaron and Crumb Cake with Early Espresso for the sentiment.  It uses the coordinating DSP and Baker's Twine.  Love!

Unfortunately, the quality of this video for some reason seems to shift between blurry and clear so my apologies for that.  I have posted a picture of the final result for your reference.

Broadway Bound Suite

This bundle was on my wish list from the moment I saw the catalogue in April at OnStage in Red Deer but when June 1st rolled around, it had moved down my list enough that I was considering waiting to order it until later in the year.

I changed my mind as I knew it coordinated with June's Paper Pumpkin and I wanted to be able to offer some incentives to customers to try out Paper Pumpkin.  It didn't get my any new subscribers but none the less, I am super excited to have ordered it no rather than having waited!

If nothing else, you NEED to have the DSP; it is outstanding!! Gold foil, lemon lime twist, lovely lipstick, gray granite......SUPERB!  Add to that the wicked stamp set and coordinating framelits and this is a WIN WIN.

I CASEd this card straight from the catalogue.  I plan to do that with each of my new sets as a quick way to get a card created and also to remind each of us that the catalogue is full of amazing card ideas that each of us can make at home.

The white square is stamped with Lemon Lime Twist, the candle in Lovely Lipstick, the flame in Pineapple Punch and the Sentiment in Lovely Lipstick (on Powder Pink cardstock). The wish sentiment is accented with the new Metallic Pearls and there is a tiny bit of Gold Foil under the lower sentiment. The shaker contents are primarily retired but there are some metallic sequins in there as well.

Add in white foam strips and a window sheet and you two can make this card.

It is a unique dimension at 4 5/8 square but with the envelope board you can create your own envelope easily enough!

More of Share What You Love

'Tis the time of year for thank you cards!  From teachers to coaches and anyone else who has gotten you through the 'season', now is the time we gift them with our gratitude for all their hard work.

These are just two of the many that I have been working on as I sneak in time crafting and make a point of using new papers, colours and stamp sets!  Both of these layouts were provided by Rhonda Wade.  They are simple yet stunning with the beautiful DSP and imagery of the stamp set.

This Share What You Love Designer Series Paper is a MUST have. It may be a bit pricier sure but when you consider the quality of the paper (handpainted and pearlized finishes)  and the quantity (24 sheets), you won't be sorry you invested.

And of course the Do What You Love stamp set is fabulous as well.  Beautiful images and amazing sentiments to pair with them.

Get yours today!

Two Step Stamping With Varied Vases

This card just 'came together' which was both unexpected and awesome!  Sometime it can take me up to 30 minutes to even figure out what elements I want to put together on a card front let alone design the layout, stamping and sentiment.

I was given all the paper pieces (except the banners for the sentiment) for this card but decided to change up template I was given to follow.  It was an easy start to flip over the amazing double sided DSP (patterned paper) to create a different background.  I then looked to the very versatile Varied Vases stamp set (for the 3rd time this week) to create my main stamped image and sentiment.  Always in the back of my mind was a request I had had for teacher thank you cards.

I stamped the vase and each of the flowers using Basic Black ink.  I then choose three colours from the DSP to use with the two step stamps in the set to create the coloured blossoms.  I used Grapefruit Grove for the orchids, Rich Razzleberry (stamped off once) for the tulips and Petal Pink (stamped over twice to deepen the colour) on the final blooms.

I absolutely LOVE the finished project.  Stay tuned for a video tutorial of this card.

Varied Vases

This is a great new punch and stamp set bundle available now from the 2018-2019 catalogue.  It was designed by one of the million dollar demos so we now it will be in the catalogue for years to come!

This first project was CASEd from Rhonda Wade with one or two twists of my own. I embossed the white layer with the Softly Falling EF to add a bit of texture and I lightened  my colour palette to Highland Heather and Soft Sea Foam.  (She has used Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green).  I love the end result!

Additional supplies used where the 1 3/4 and 2" circle punches as well as the Layering Circles framelits.  Oh and we can't forget the rhinestones!

I am already getting requests for teacher cards so I added a quick layer to the card to personalize it for that use.

Rule of thumb when crafting..... if you are going to make one card, you might as well make two!  And really I wanted to play a bit more and had the time.  This card is my CASE of the sample on page 45 of the catalogue. I switched up the colours to match the DSP I currently own (this is Tranquil Textures) which had me working with Balmy Blue, Night of Navy, Fresh Fig and Tranquil Tide.  I love this card and plan to make several more to offer for teacher thank yous and for my general stock of cards.
